The HEAT Program - Helping Entrepreneurs Attain Talent
The HEAT Program empowers talented individuals living in poverty or experiencing homelessness to transform their skills into sustainable enterprises. We recognize that while the community is rich with potential, there is often a lack of access to the corporate "insider knowledge" required to scale a business.
HEAT is specifically designed to bridge this gap for African American entrepreneurs, providing the tools and strategic understanding necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern corporate landscape.
Building Generational Success
Our mission goes beyond the initial launch. We focus on creating Black-owned businesses and nonprofits that serve as pillars of community upliftment. Our curriculum provides deep-dive training on the essential elements of a lasting enterprise:
Legal & Structural Foundations: Guidance on business incorporation and compliance with the Revised Code of Washington (RCW).
Financial Literacy: Comprehensive management of business finances and capital.
Marketing & Influence: Strategic social media marketing to build brand presence.
The Political Landscape: Understanding the external factors that impact entrepreneurship and growth.
The HEAT Experience
Participants meet three times per week to build a solid corporate foundation. This intensive program covers more than just administrative tasks; we tackle the core components of sustainability:
Sustainability & Governance: Developing the policies and procedures that allow a business to thrive for generations.
Navigating Equity & Bias: Directly addressing and overcoming systemic biases within banking systems and the broader business community.
Investment & Growth: Connecting participants with potential investors ready to fund their visions and turn aspirations into reality.
At the HEAT Program, we inspire our participants to dream big. We don't just help you start a business—we help you build a future that reflects your goals and strengthens our community.
